Renovation of the Jazz Bar “La Rhumerie” in Guadeloupe, Interior Architecture
In 2016, I had the opportunity to lead the complete renovation of La Rhumerie Jazz Club, an iconic bar in Guadeloupe, as Project Manager and Master Builder. The challenge was to transform this space into a versatile venue that could metamorphose from a cocktail bar specializing in rums to a jazz concert hall, while optimizing the space to comfortably accommodate 80 seated people.
The main objective was to find the optimal configuration to allow for this dual function while maintaining a warm and intimate atmosphere, essential for a jazz club. I conducted an in-depth acoustic and lighting study to provide an atmosphere conducive to tasting evenings and suitable for the technical requirements of musical performances.
he renovation involved the complete overhaul of the hall and stage, reorganizing spaces for maximum flexibility. Custom-made furniture was designed, conceived to quickly adapt to the needs of concert evenings or relaxed drinks. Additionally, I supervised the creation of the corporate identity, with a logo reflecting the festive and musical soul of the establishment.
The project, delivered in one week, concluded with a harmonious and functional space, offering customers a unique experience, both immersive and friendly, whether they come for a refined cocktail or to vibrate to the sound of jazz.
