From One Century to Another… Small House, Big Transformation, Interior Architecture
“Everything started with a meeting, with a young and friendly couple who had just acquired a small house from the 1920s in Vertou, near Nantes… to rethink from the floor to the ceiling! Exactly the kind of challenge I love to take on!” – Marie Ararà
Heading to the Beautour neighborhood, on the outskirts of Nantes. Residential vibe, family atmosphere, old house: all the ingredients are gathered to spark my imagination! And I must admit, it took quite a bit of creativity to transform this dark, gloomy, and damp home into a bright, open living space.
The floors, once sanded, regained their shine, infusing a warm ambiance on every level. The beautiful cement tiles, patiently restored to revive their beauty, guided our color choices on the ground floor, particularly this deep blue that I used on the kitchen backsplash, in the small laundry room, and the WC. This blue even made its way upstairs, as a headboard and in the bathroom!
Ready for a new life, the house transformed into a beautiful space to arrange. Staying true to my architectural and aesthetic principles, I optimized every inch and utilized every nook with custom furniture and storage solutions.
The final touch was the intervention on the outdoor layout, which I designed in harmony with this beautifully renovated house. The clients quickly made this space their own, developing their own lifestyle within it.
