A Breath of Renewal for the Vivre Ici Nantes Cathédrale Agency.

By Marie Ararà | May. 11 2024

The Vivre Ici Nantes Cathédrale Agency is a project that didn’t require major renovations, yet in just 1 month of construction, the agency has been completely transformed. Brighter, more spacious, and more welcoming! Discover through this blog post how we managed to modernize this agency, which was losing its momentum, without altering its structure.

Initial Plan:

On this plan, the layout of the Vivre Ici Nantes Cathédrale Agency seemed quite good, with well-proportioned volumes and spacious areas to welcome clients, etc. However, during the visit, we immediately understood the core of the problem. Beyond being very cluttered due to a lack of storage, the agency had a very unpleasant office in the center. This office was in the middle of a thoroughfare, making access to the upper floor difficult.

Projected Plan:

We therefore focused primarily on improving access to the spiral staircase by partitioning the office with an ultramodern glass partition. The choice of a glass partition was an obvious decision, as the office created was small, and we didn’t want to suffocate the space by fully enclosing it. The glass partition is a great compromise in this kind of situation.

The Reception

The reception was dark and cluttered, with the existing furniture lacking coherence and appearing outdated. This space needed to be addressed as a priority, as it served multiple purposes: both as a waiting area and a reception while also maintaining a large passageway to access the offices and various floors. To clearly differentiate these functions, we first defined the spaces using floor markings. With this simple approach, clients were able to quickly envision the future layout.

At MA DESIGN, we are committed to creating highly realistic 3D renderings during the project design phase. These 3D visuals complement the projected space plans and are extremely important as they ensure the client knows exactly what they are purchasing and what direction their project is taking. This process avoids any unpleasant surprises during the construction phase and strengthens the trust between our artisan teams, clients, and the MA DESIGN team.

The Office

We chose to add an extra touch of originality and modernity to the space by installing White Spirit wallpaper designed by Pascale Risbourg, a monochrome 2D trompe-l’oeil panel made from a collage of papers.

This space now features a larger-than-life and intriguingly realistic pattern. Thanks to the projected shadows, the cutouts appear tangible and create a strong impression of texture and depth, which all the clients are eager to touch.
