The BYD SEAL tested in Nantes

By Auto-Moto | March 20 2024

After the compact car and the SUV, BYD unveils the Seal, a family sedan with a sporty look that Marie Ararà, interior designer at MA Design, took all the way to the Château de la Pigossière in Pont Saint-Martin.

« A good balance between power and comfort. »

A successful design

Winner of the iF Design Award, the BYD Seal features a marine-inspired design that exudes a sporty and dynamic look.

«It’s a very beautiful car; its design is well-balanced, both inside and out. The finishes are outstanding, with high-quality materials and remarkably chosen color combinations».

Ergonomic

Once seated behind the wheel, the driver has access to two large digital screens, including a 15.6-inch central rotating touchscreen.

« The dashboard is very pleasant, with large screens that are extremely practical; everything is truly within easy view, and the ergonomics are perfect », explains Marie Ararà.

Space !

«The panoramic roof creates a feeling of spaciousness, giving the impression of being in a large living room. The upholstery is very pleasant; the faux leather is comfortable, and the seating is truly excellent. It’s a family car with very comfortable seats both in the front and the back, ensuring everyone is perfectly accommodated.»

Great maneuverability

«The BYD Seal is extremely maneuverable, with outstanding road handling. The car feels firmly planted on the road, giving a strong sense of stability, especially in corners. The soundproofing is excellent, and the suspension absorbs road imperfections so well that you barely notice them. All of this makes driving very enjoyable.»

Characteristics

Equipped with an 82.5 kWh battery and offering a range of up to 570 km, the BYD Seal is the sedan in the Chinese manufacturer’s lineup. It is available in two powertrains: a 230 kW (313 hp) front motor for the Design rear-wheel drive version, complemented by a second rear motor on the all-wheel drive Excellence version, reaching a total power output of 390 kW (530 hp).

I like it ♥.

« Its design, the quality of the finishes, the interior space, and the ease with which it drives. »

Summary

«The BYD Seal is a very pleasant car to drive, offering great interior comfort with high-quality finishes. One can travel hundreds of kilometers without any issues.»

We would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. de Lambilly for allowing us to do the photoshoot at the Château de la Pigossière in Pont Saint-Martin.
