Complete Renovation of a 120m² Haussmannian Apartment, Interior Architecture.

Discover the complete transformation of our office/showroom, ideally located on Boulevard Allard, in the heart of the Mellinet district in Nantes. This renovation project took shape in a 117 m² apartment that was previously arranged in a less-than-optimal manner. Originally composed of two bedrooms and a single bathroom accessible only through the kitchen, this space presented several layout challenges.

The entrance, though spacious, lacked natural light, a problem exacerbated by its concrete floor. It was merely a reception area without any additional functional use. The two living rooms, despite their south-facing orientation, lacked warmth, and their layout obstructed easy circulation. Moreover, while numerous closets were available, they did not meet the functional storage needs.

Faced with these constraints, we brainstormed and studied several layout proposals before realizing that the old kitchen was not optimally placed in the apartment. By relocating it, it became possible to transform this T3 into a T4, adding a spacious and well-lit third bedroom.

To carry out this transformation, several works were undertaken. One of the main challenges was to route the water to the new kitchen without compromising the charm of the original parquet flooring, which we absolutely wanted to preserve. After considering several solutions, we decided to create a plasterboard partition in the two bedrooms at the back of the apartment. This partition, while concealing the plumbing, also serves as a headboard, an elegant and modern detail that fits seamlessly into our projects at MA DESIGN.

Finally, the small closet at the back of the apartment was transformed into a functional bathroom, equipped with a shower and a washbasin, easily accessible from the two adjacent bedrooms. Thanks to these adjustments, this apartment now boasts a fluid, modern, and warm layout, offering optimized spaces for the comfort of its occupants.
